Community Voices

Story Submission

Community Voices highlights the experiences of workers in the informal economy through storytelling. Share what you have, even a rough draft, notes, or a short summary. We can help you shape it into a clear, safe, publishable story.

About Community Voices

We publish lived experiences and community reporting related to work and life in the informal economy. Stories are grouped into thematic collections so readers can discover related voices. Short stories are welcome. So are longer stories-if your story needs structure, we can help refine it. If your story doesn’t fit for publication right now, we may keep it as a pilot submission and follow up with guidance rather than rejecting it outright.

Guidance

What to submit

You can submit a full story, a rough draft, notes, or a short summary. Think about:

  • What kind of work do you do?
  • Can you describe a “day in your life” so we understand what your work looks like each day?
  • If you could change your job in any way, what would you change? How would you make it better?
  • What is your proudest accomplishment?
  • What are your hopes and vision for the future?

If you have media (photo/video/audio), share a link and add 2–3 sentences explaining what it shows and why it matters.

If you’re unsure about structure, submit anyway—our team can help you shape the story into a clear, publishable format.
